This Saturday morning was abuzz with students from grades 6 to 12. The reason is, for the first time in Bangladesh, International Hope School Bangladesh has organized STEM Fest which featured 81 projects done by the students from the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. After a warm welcome by the principal, Ms. Roksana Zarin; the event was inaugurated by the Chairman of the parent Company, International Hope Company Ltd. We had video speeches from the Chief Guest the Honorable Minister Mustafa Jabbar conveying his warm regards to the participants for this auspicious showcase. Also, the Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, Md. Atiqul Islam conveyed his regards for this prestigious occasion.

With a final touch from our distinguished guests, the founder & CEO of Robi 10 minute School, Ayman Sadiq and the Head of Market Development & Communication at Nagad, Mr. Solaiman Shukhon. Their words truly inspired our students to study STEM more deeply in future.

We have some notable projects in our STEM Fest featuring the Golden Ratio, Bioplastics, Hyperloop, Fire Retardant Gel, Water Pods, Robotic Glove, Monty Hall Problem, Effect of Color on the brain etc. Other than these, the event also featured the Astronomy Corner and Bangabandhu Satellite prototype. The main attraction was the Robot Dance and Robo Soccer at the beginning to inaugurate the event. Following the robot demonstration, a human vs robot Rubik’s Cube challenge was held, which was won by Mubin from IHSB.

All in all, the inaugural STEM FEST acted as a medium of further showcasing the benefits of a STEM education, and how much can be learned through engaging oneself in various STEM projects and by applying the knowledge they given in classes.
