The school library, the epicenter for leaning at the primary and secondary level promotes a programme to facilitate the Cambridge and Edexcel curriculum and deliver adequately the required wholesome reading for the purpose. Students can access information, which not only contributes to enhance their knowledge in any given subject, but also incites an inclination to find out more.
The IHSB library which at present accommodates about 6000 books encourages both teachers and students to explore areas of information and leanings, using the media provided for the purpose. Since education is not merely an end itself, it is for the teachers and students to utilize the facilities the library offers optimally, as effective users of ideas and information. There are books in the library which caterers to carious tastes in reading. The shelves have material for those with serious bent of mind, as well for those who read for entertainment.
The library is obliged to abide by its rules for leading books and policy for imposing fines for books with are overdue or damaged.
Library Lending Policy for Damaged/Lost/Overdue Books:
The library holds an extremely important place in the IHSB program. We would like students to develop a love for books and reading, and we want to inspire in them the belief that reading for recreation can be a lifelong hobby. The IHSB library operates like a miniature public library.
Rules for issuing a BOOK:
- Students/employees may check out books for a one-week period.
- Additional books may not be checked out until previous books have been returned.
- Any student/employee checking out books will assume responsibility for the lost books.
- Lost or damaged books will be reported to the Library.
- Students/parents/employees will be billed for the replacement of lost/damaged books.
- Students/employees must pay for damages or replacement.
- Students failing to pay the due fines will not be allowed to sit for the semester exams and will not be given report cards.
- Rules and regulations can be changed/ updated as per the requirements of the authority.
Fine and Overdue policy:
- Lost:
- If a student cannot produce the book (lost) he/she will be charged an administration fee for the time spent by the school reordering the book and the current purchase price of the replacement copy (as the price of the book might have increased since it was ordered originally).
- For students marks will be deducted in case of the term vandalizing school property.
- Damaged:
- If a student returns the damaged book he/she will be charged an administration fee for the time spent by the school reordering the book and the current purchase price of the replacement copy (as the price of the book might have increased since we ordered the book originally).

- Overdue:
- Overdue fines will be charged one-week after the expiration of the borrowed date. The charge is 20 Taka per day.
- Returning material without paying overdue fine, subsequent charges will be reduced 5 taka per-day.
- Particulars for lost or damaged books will be submitted to the Deputy Heads of Student Affairs and Deputy Head of Admin. He/she in turn will notify the parents concerned regarding the extent of the damaged incurred.
